About

56c3f83eb64d508eb32f7f8284c72830[2]   Hi!  For those who don’t know who I am…I am simply a woman who is head over heels in love with Jesus, my family, and life!    I come from the countryside of upstate New York where I was born, raised, married my high school sweetheart, and raised two wonderful sons.  For the past eleven years we have called North Carolina home.  There’s nothing like those Carolina blue skies!  Here our family has grown to include two precious daughters-in-law, and three delightful grandchildren with another on the way!  Oh, and I can’t leave out our miniature schnauzer Riley. ;

For many years I have been blessed to share my love for God and His Word through serving in women’s ministry, teaching Sunday School, Bible studies and a few speaking opportunities.  I have had a love for writing for as long as I can remember, but until recently it has only filled many journals.  A few months ago, I was encouraged to get back on Facebook – with the purpose of posting devotionals.  Though excited, all the doubts started to scream: “Am I hearing God right?”  “Won’t it seem prideful if I actually act like I can write?”  “Why would anyone want to read what I have to say?”  I love to write what God has put on my heart, but actually putting my words…my heart and soul out there for all to read is terrifying!  What I realized…what I knew…clearly knew…was that God was opening the door of opportunity to use my love of writing for Him, and I needed to walk through it.  That was eight months ago.  This blog is the next step in my writing journey.  It is probably going to evolve as I learn and grow (I most definitely am NOT a techie person!).  But I want to make this a place for your mind and soul to rest and breathe.  I hope to fill it with words that will challenge you as well as encourage your heart.

  I continue to be amazed at what God has done, and continues to do in my life.  He is stretching me.  But as I obey and follow His leading, He is also blessing in ways that continue to amaze and humble me.  I am so grateful for the transforming power of His Amazing Grace.

     So why should you follow my blog?  Hey, we are all  busy.  The last thing any of us need is one more thing to do or read, right?  I don’t ever want to waste your valuable time.  But I also know that we all need to take a break and recharge our batteries.  We need to take a few minutes to regroup and refresh our mind and spirit.  Maybe we need a fresh perspective.  Sometimes, after a rough day we just need to be reminded that we’re not in this alone.  I want to encourage you in your daily walk with God amidst life’s messiness….and boy can it get messy at times!  I pray that no matter what you may face in life, you WILL see that there is always joy in the journey…when you are journeying with the One who is the source of all true joy.  HE is the One I always want to point you to.

     There is not much I enjoy more than a good spiritual conversation; sharing stories of how God has worked…sometimes in extraordinary ways…in our ordinary lives.  So grab a cup of coffee or tea and please, come along with me on this journey!  I can’t wait to meet you!

Humbly grateful,

Debbie

“Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”  Hebrews 12:2-3
